Portrait Sessions

Need Portraits? Headshots? I'm your girl!

Here are some samples of portraits / headshots I've taken. It's rewarding for me to do headshots because I know firsthand how uncomfortable it can feel to be photographed. I tend to get really self-conscious when someone is taking a photo of me, so I really like to help people feel at ease. The comment I get more often than any, is that I am able to make people feel comfortable. That's just about the biggest compliment I could ask for : )

Thanks to Jeffey, Geraldine, Maggie and Lale for letting me use these photos!

This is Maggie, a gal I used to work with last year. I got to take several employee photos for the company's website, and Maggie was a stunning subject!

Lale Basak, Recruitment Consultant for California People Search www.capeoplesearch.com (Side note here: California People Search placed me with great companies when I was working as a temp).

Senior Portrait Time!

'Tis the season for Senior Portraits!

I have done lots of portraits in the past, but this is the first year I am focusing on seniors.

My name is Laura and I love taking headshots of people. I am offering a FREE HEADSHOT session for two reasons:

1) I am looking to expand my senior portrait portfolio
2) Because I grew up poor, I know how hard it was to come up with the money to pay for senior portraits.

In exchange for the free session, I will ask that if and when you post on sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc., you post my contact information or a link to my site with each photo. I would also like to use the photos on my website.

You will receive your five best shots, free of charge.

For everyone else: I can offer 5 more sessions at a discounted rate: a $49 session fee, and you will have the option to purchase photos ala carte for $10 each, OR, pay $100 for a disc with all photos from our session that day (there will be hundreds).  However, in exchange for this discounted rate, I ask that you also post a link to my website when uploading to Facebook, etc..

I can also retouch photos for an additional fee (price depends on what needs to be done). http://tealephotography.blogspot.com/2008/08/girls-just-wanna-have-fun-and-look-cute.html

Just let me know if you're interested. You can reach me at 650-260-2269.

Cheers,
Laura

Tripti and Neal - in their wedding attire!

Thanks so much to Tripti and Neal for letting me share your beautiful photos! You both looked amazing. You are such a sweet couple, and were a joy to work with from start to finish (and that includes all other sessions we've done).  It was such a pleasure to photograph you both!!

Father Son Pics

Father-son pics are among my favorites to take (well I like any kind of family pics but I really love doing these), and last weekend I got the opportunity to take some cute pics of Jack and his son playing basketball. The weather was beautiful and I knew I could get some good shots if I just started snapping away. Robert is so cute and has a smile so big, and Jack is a great subject too, always hamming it up. Thanks for the photo op, guys!

Angela's Wedding

I've been so busy I haven't had time to do many posts lately, but wanted to post a handful of pics from my friends' Angela and Barzel's wedding. They were absolutely beautiful, fun to photograph (as always) and I am so happy Angela liked the pics. I rented a Canon 50 mm f1.2 lens for the event and am very glad I did, the colors came out much better than they would have with my normal lens. Thanks a ton to http://www.borrowlenses.com/ for their great service.

I also used a great new flash bouncer called the Demb Flip-It. My friend Jodi highly recommended it, saying it's the only one she likes. I agree, it was very easy to use and produced some great pics. In addition, their customer service was outstanding. I ordered it the day before the wedding and it arrived right on time!

Anyway - it was a really fun evening and I am so glad I was able to be there.
Congratulations Barzel and Angela!

Family Photo Time w/the Montgomerys

I had a great time taking Christmas card photos for Jen and her family. They gave me so many great shots, it's hard to decide which ones to put on here! The kids had some cool ideas for poses as well. Sometimes, when someone in the group has a lot of ideas, the other people (especially when it's a parent) start looking kind of embarrassed, like, Oh my god, we are so sorry, we know you probably don't like being told what to do. But I don't really mind. I've gotten some GREAT shots from other peoples' suggestions, so I just roll with it.

Here are some of my favorite shots from the day:

It was a great day. Thanks to Mary and Aidan for some fun, creative ideas, and to Jen and Mike for being such troopers and laying down on the stillalittlemuddy grass! : ) Well done, team Montgomery!
